About Me


I am a continuing Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, La Trobe University. Before that, I was a Machine Learning Research Fellow at Australian Institute for Machine Learning (AIML), The University of Adelaide, working with AProf Johan Verjans and Dr Zhibin Liao at AIML, Prof Job N. Doornberg at University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), and Prof Ruurd Jaarsma at Flinders Medical Centre (FMC). I got my PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence jointly with AIML, The University of Adelaide and Griffith University, under the supervision of Prof Chunhua Shen and Prof Yongsheng Gao.

My research interests lie broadly in the field of computer vision and deep learning. My current research focuses on orthopaedic medical image learning, ophthalmology medical image learning, image-based / video-based object retrieval, (ultra) fine-grained image classification, pose estimation and landmark detection.

Open to interdisciplinary collaboration. Eligible to Supervise Masters & Doctoral Students.
